Kate Klimow Announced as 2019 Business Outlook Master of Ceremonies

Kate Klimow, chief administrative officer and director of External Relations at UCI Applied Innovation, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the Greater Irvine Chamber’s 10th annual 2019 Business Outlook Breakfast to be held on Thursday, Jan. 10. The economic-forecast event is one of the largest of its kind in Orange County, drawing hundreds of professionals, executives, and community leaders from throughout the region.
Klimow has experience working in both public and private sectors throughout her career. Her varied experience in government relations and public affairs includes working for the Arizona Department of Commerce, Parsons Corporation, Walt Disney Imagineering, Disneyland Resort, KB Home, California Apartment Association, and the Orange County Business Council.
Currently serving as chair of the Greater Irvine Chamber Board, Klimow has served the organization in several capacities since 2012, including on its Board Executive Committee and as chair of the Government Affairs Committee, and Programs Committee where she helped to establish the successful Women of Influence event.
She was also a delegate for the Chamber-led foreign direct investment missions, traveling to the U.K. in 2017 and 2018. She has partnered on Chamber career readiness programs, including the award-winning Career Edge soft skills workshops for students enrolled in any of Irvine’s colleges or universities. Klimow is a proud recipient of the Chamber’s Jamie Trevor Leadership Award, and also serves on the boards of the OC Forum and Second Harvest Food Bank.
Klimow has been honored as the 74th Assembly District Woman of the Year 2016, was included on a past OC Metro’s20 Women to Watch list, and was a nominee for the Orange County Business Journal’s Women in Business Awards.
Business Outlook 2019 attendees will hear an economic forecast for 2019 from Chris Thornberg, founding partner, Beacon Economics. Thornberg, an engaging, highly-sought after speaker, is an expert in economic and revenue forecasting, regional economics, economic policy, and labor and real estate markets. He is the current director of the UC Riverside School of Business Center for Economic Forecasting and Development.
Chris Schwarz, faculty director, UC IrvineCenter for Investment and Wealth Management, will open the event’s main presentations with a financial forecast for the coming year.
Tickets for Business Outlook 2019, held Thursday, Jan. 10,7 – 9:15 a.m., at HotelIrvine, 17900 Jamboree Rd., are $75 for Chamber members and $105 for nonmembers. Table sponsorships are available.
