“Thanks to many dedicated people, solid planning, and vibrant organizations like the Greater Irvine Chamber, Irvine continues to rise above challenges, including those of the present-day. We are thrilled to be the Presenting Sponsor for the Chamber’s Celebrate Resilience awards presentation, and to contribute to a healthier and even more impressive future for this great community,” Annette M. Walker, president, City of Hope Orange County.
As a champion of strong community partnerships, the Greater Irvine Chamber will formally recognize companies, organizations, and individuals that have made a positive impact on the greater Irvine community in response to the Coronavirus crisis, during the Celebrate Resilience awards presentation.
Acts of support, large or small, from any industry are eligible for recognition. Nominations are open to Greater Irvine Chamber members and non-members. Self-nominations are also encouraged. Nominations in a variety of categories are being accepted through Friday, Sept. 25, 5 p.m.
City of Hope Orange County this year announced plans to invest $1 billion dollars in building a comprehensive cancer care center in Irvine’s Great Park Neighborhood. The cancer center will offer patients diagnostic imaging and screenings, precision medicine and early detection, medical oncology, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgical oncology, and ambulatory surgery. It will also hold a clinical research center.
“City of Hope can’t think of a better home for our new world-class cancer center than the city of Irvine, the epicenter of technology innovation and a globally renowned economic powerhouse. We wanted a place that values transformation, cooperation, and optimism,” said Walker.
