OC World Trade Week Exporter of the Year Nominees Announced

Each year, the Greater Irvine Chamber, in partnership with the District Export Council, takes the opportunity to showcase an Orange County-based business that has expanded its markets through successful export strategies by recognizing an Exporter of the Year. 

The 2019 Exporter of the Yearnominees are Diamon-Fusion International, Earth Friendly Products, Highlife International LLC, Linden Educational Services, Microwave Dynamics, and Worldwide Environmental Products, Inc.

The Exporter of the Year award will be formally presented at the Orange County World Trade Week Breakfast and Forum (OCWTW) on Thursday, May 16, 7:30 a.m. – 12 p.m., at the Irvine Marriott, 18000 Von Karman Ave.

Diamon-Fusion International has manufactured and distributed low-maintenance protective coatings, application machinery, and restoration products for the residential, commercial, and automotive markets since 1997. Currently, patents and patents-pending are held worldwide, and Diamond-Fusion International’s global sales and distribution networks span more than 20 countries around the globe.

Family owned and operated since 1967, Earth Friendly Products is the maker of ECOS Laundry Detergent and over 200 other environmentally friendly cleaning products made with plant-powered ingredients. The company is currently exporting to more than 60 countries in four continents, and hopes to expand their international market share continually in the future.

Highlife International, LLC was established in 2008 and specialized is sales, marketing, distribution, and branding. The company’s president, Vidura Jay, successfully tapped into markets in Sri Lanka to sell a portable water bottle with a built-in filtration component produced by Seychelle Environmental Technologies Inc., one of the leading water-filtration technology companies in the U.S. 

Linden Educational Services, an international education company dedicated to helping university and boarding schools in the U.S., arranges recruitment events around the world to ensure partner schools enroll an astute, diverse, and talented group of international students. The company has traveled to 34 total countries last year helping to export students, for short-term and full-time studies, to a broad range of institutions throughout the U.S.

A certified small business with just one manufacturing location in Irvine, Microwave Dynamics, designs and manufactures technology that is used in space, military, and commercial applications. The company has strong customer relationships that are flourishing and growing in countries in Europe and Asia despite having no overseas sales offices, and hopes to expand into other markets even further with an aggressive export marketing plan.

For more than 30 years, Worldwide Environmental Products, Inc. has been a leader in designing and providing innovative, high-quality vehicle emissions and safety inspection solutions. The company has participated in projects with both public agencies and private firms in more than 10 countries, including Canada, China, Fiji, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Mexico, and Singapore.

In addition to the award presentation, the OCWTW program will feature a keynote address by Steve Wagner, global managing director of Experian Decision Analytics, an International Resource EXPO, and the Export Success Panel in which panelists from Taco Bell, Technologent, and Worldwide Environmental Products, Inc. will offer attendees insights into the challenges and opportunities for business expansion through exporting.

OCWTW brings together Orange County’s International-American chambers and business associations, public sector and private trade organizations, and members of business community to grow awareness of the impact of international trade and export in Orange County. OCWTW drew an audience of more than 550 attendees last year, more than double that of its inaugural 2015 event.
